Scamps Squad Literature Club: Difference between revisions

The Scamp Squad Literature Club (SSLC) was created on the 25th of July, 2025 by Dean, as a book-club like server. Its name came from a game that MikeyScamp played called Doki Doki Literature Club during Horror Jail in 2024.

Eventually it grew into what it is now, which is a place to share not only the Scamps’ love of literature, but also their love of writing and other forms of media. There are different categories for book recommendations, as well as special channels for events.

Channels

There are many different channels for recommending or reviewing books. There is a channel for every genre, and if we’re missing it, let us know! The current genre channels, include, but are not limited to: horror, romance, sci-fi, thriller, fantasy, and mystery.

Subgenres are just included in the overarching genre, typically. For example, a paranormal book would most likely fall under the Horror section.

There’s also a fanfiction channel (both reading and writing)! That way, we can share our own personal works and get feedback or encouragement from one another!

A book that was recently read within the SSLC is The Cautious Traveler’s Guide to the Wastelands. Widely recommended by those who participated in that reading!

Events

Events do happen in the SSLC! There are ‘slide show nights’ where the members can discuss any lore from any piece of media (or even about themselves!) that they so wish.

There are also watch parties, where we all pull up a movie and sit on a voice call, and have commentary on what we’re watching.

Typically, the book discussions are chapter by chapter, spoilered in case anyone is behind (we know how life can be!).
